Bangkok, Thailand
Bangkok blends gilded temples, river ferries, late-night noodles, and icy mall air-conditioning into a city break that hums from dawn to midnight. Arrive ready for heat, plan around the BTS and river boats, and you can see a lot in a few well-paced days.

Weather
Hot year-round, with a humid monsoon from May to October, then drier and slightly cooler from November to February. The most comfortable window is December to February, when rain is scarce and afternoons are less punishing.
Where to stay
Choose your base by transit first. For shopping, dining, and easy BTS links, stay along Sukhumvit Road near Asok or Phrom Phong for direct access to the BTS Skytrain. For temples and the Grand Palace, base in the Old City or along the river and ride the Chao Phraya Express Boat from piers such as Saphan Taksin or Tha Chang.

- Sukhumvit: Modern hotels, dining, nightlife, malls
- Silom/Sathon: Business-friendly stays, Lumphini Park, Chinatown access
- Rattanakosin (Old City): Grand Palace, Wat Pho, walkable heritage sights
- Chinatown (Yaowarat): Night food crawls, markets, photo walks
How long to spend
Three full days cover the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, a river-boat circuit, one museum or house museum, and a BTS-led day of malls and food. Add a fourth day for Ayutthaya or a deep dive into Chinatown after dark.
